It has been some time now that I’ve developed an interest in an interesting healing modality called EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques). This is somewhat unique modality both in its technique and in its uses.
First the use. As the name implies, EFT has a lot to do with the emotions. The main goal of EFT is to replace regular psychotherapy. Actually, as Gary Craig, the founder of EFT writes in the EFT manual , he was looking for a way to replace years of little effective psychotherapy with some easy and quick technique to help people with their emotional problems. EFT is effective when dealing with a lots of emotional issues, such as fears and phobias, trauma and abuse and also physical issues, since many of them come from emotional sources, like blood pressure, headaches, diabetes and more.
EFT is based on the the following discovery statement:
“The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system.”
And then the following statement:
“Our unresolved negative emotions are major contributors to most physical pains and diseases.”
The healing procedure itself is very simple to perform in its basic form. But first some introduction. Since the source of the emotional problems are disruptions in the body’s energy system, then balancing the energy system will help relieve the emotional issue. EFT bases its energy treatment on the chinese acupuncture (or acupressure) knowledge and uses points on the meridians of energy to restore balance to the energy system. EFT uses tapping as the tool to influence the meridians. There’s also a short setup procedure to direct the healing on a specific issue.
EFT basics can be learned from the free manual (79 pages PDF document). But for a better way to learn and see EFT in action is to purchase the instructional videos from the EFT site.
I have purchased 2 video sets from the site, one is EFT course – 13 hours of instructions and real treatments on DVDs and audio CDs. I have also purchased Borrowing Benefits Video Series – 13 hours of additional material for beginners (perform together with the videos).
I have already received the package yesterday and have seen one of the movies, where a man with an intense fear of deep water is being relieved of his phobia and submerges in a pool after a series of EFT treatment, after only about 40 minutes after the beginning. This was a really remarkable example.
I’m looking forward to see the other material that’s available on these videos. But 26! hours is a lot to see so it will take some time till I see it all. I will later post a more thorough review of the videos that I’ve received. Stay tuned.
